There are several reasons why we are going to focus on German stocks, particularly those in the DAX40.
Firstly, Germany is a comparatively well run country compared to other democracies, or autocracies. Factors considered include: rule of law; politics; an educated population; and, a productive non-government sector.
Secondly, we like the spread of industries: banking; insurance; technology and IT; manuafacturing; medical; chemicals; et cetera. They don’t have a “Magnificent 7” but they have companies that have been churning out cashflow for decades!
Thirdly, there is an unusual deference to management by local investors that give international investors an edge.
